Claire was born in the Royal Berks in Reading. She had a difficult birth and her face was covered in brusies. That didn't last for long and you could see her beautiful big brown eyes. When I took her for a walk in the pram I was the happiest woman on earth. She learnt to walk at 11 months. Claire grew up in Wokingham with her younger sister, Lorraine and mum and dad, Aileen and Dave. She always helped in the kitchen arranging food to perfection from an early age. Her bedroom was arranged to military perfection. She was a regular at the ice rink and in the shows. In adult life she worked for a hotel and later became a wedding organiser and excelled at this making everyone feel they were the only one. She was a toast master and loved organising and attending everything for the special day. She has numerous letters expressing such thanks which were never shown to us before. She loved salsa dancing and was a complete natural, perfect for one with such a love of life. Formula 1 racing was her great love, she always spoke of David Coulthard as if he had just been to dinner; not forgetting Lewis and Jenson. She met Lewis' father at an awards night and was so pleased! She later worked for Legal & General and TATA and quickly assumed the role of Events secretary with an eye in mind always for a fun drink night ! She was a brilliant extractor of money for fundraising events. She was very close to her grandmother and grandfather and visited every week until their deaths. Claire was always there for me, mum, and never let me down.
